Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers. Radon is a radioactive gas that can only be detected by radon testing. According to the EPA, 1 in 15 homes in the U.S. is affected by radon. We use an electronic radon monitor that is faster and more accurate than charcoal kits with readings taken every hour.
If you're building a new home, a pre-drywall inspection is one of the most important steps you can take during the building process. It's much easier and cost effective to find these defects while the home is being built, as opposed to finding out later when you try to sell the home.
The EPA recommends that you should test your drinking water every year for total coliform bacteria, nitrates, total dissolved solids and pH levels, especially if you have a new well, or have replaced or repaired pipes, pumps or the well casing. All of the water samples are tested by a local water testing lab.
Builder's 1 Year Warranty Inspection
You should schedule this inspection before the builder's 1-year warranty has expired. This is a complete home inspection with the inspection report for you to hand to your builder. The builder may have to reimburse you or repair any defects found depending on the warranty.
All of our home inspections come with a free infrared inspection. Using an infrared camera or thermal imaging camera, we are able to see things that the naked eye can not, such as moisture behind walls, leaks, missing insulation, etc. Remember the movie Predator? Just like that.
